Paving the way for resilient structures

When I was a kid, we used to visit my grandfather Hateka (his nickname) in our village of Kpadape in Togo, where we slept comfortably in his mud house even during hot months. Mud houses are ancestral artisanal bioclimatic constructions that contrast with concrete-based construction by using local renewable materials that keep the indoors cool.

Nowadays, concrete material are too expensive for millions of households who need decent housing and poorly adapt to the changing climate and the rising temperature especially in Africa. Named in honor of my grandfather, Hateka enterprise embarked on a mission to revive and modernize artisanal construction by providing an affordable, scalable and efficient bioclimatic solution.
